Pine Point Pastoral Merino Sheep

Pine Point Pastoral runs a self replacing flock of large bodied, easy care Merino Sheep.

The emphasis over the last 10 years has been to reduce the micron from 25 to 22 with the young weaners cutting as low as 18 micron measurement, without losing the large body and clean legs and face that are needed in this area to move around very large paddocks and to reduce vegetable matter collected in the wool.

Generally only rams are purchased each year and lambing percentages expected in a regular season is close to 100%.

Pine Point Pastoral sheep are sought after in the sale yard and on property as they have a reputation of being perfect for cross breeding with meat type breeds such as Border Leicester, Suffolk and the newer types like Dorper.
